Cooke Insurance Clippers claimed their first Lobster win by defeating the Colonels 25-14 at the UPEI Turf Field
1st Quarter: On the opening kick off Patrick LeFrank of the Clippers on a reverse return the kick off all the way to the Colonels 30 yard line. On the very next play, Clippers QB, Justin Murphy broke one tackle and ran it in from 30 yards for the Clippers 1st major score of the game, extra point was blocked.
The Colonels respond before the 1st quarter was over, Colonels QB, Taylor Doyle hooked up with #10 Will Can for a 30 yard pass play and #61 Kyle Osmond was able to push it over on the next play to bring the Colonels back, convert good, Colonels lead 7-6
2nd Quarter: Alex Forest on a 4 yard run got the lead back for the Clipper and convert made by Justin Murphy, score 13-6 Clippers.
1half ends 13-6 Clippers over the Colonels. Standouts in the 1st half was the Colonels #10, Will Cann making two great receptions as well defensively breaking up a couple of pass plays of the Clippers and for the Clippers it was their defensive play lead by #91 Byran Champion, #55 Dakota Dawson & #56 Cory Croken.
3rd Quarter: #40, Patrick LeFrank of the Clippers intercepted a Colonels QB Taylor Doyle’s pass and returned it 8 yards for the 3rd major of the game. Convert was missed, Clippers lead 19-7
#61, Kyle Osmond of the Colonels intercepted Clippers QB Justin Murphy’s pass and returned it 55 yards for the Colonels 2nd major as well #61 kicked and made the extra point.

4th Quarter:
With the Colonels on the march, #40, Patrick Lefrank intercepted Colonels QB Taylor Doyle with 2:02 left in the game. Shortly later Clippers QB Justin Murphy hooked up with #2 Joey Dugay for a 50 yard TD play, convert was good.
Final Score 25-14 Clippers over the Colonels.
The game was certainly one that the Clippers defense won. With outstanding play by #40 Patrick LeFrank making a couple of interceptions and setting up the 1st major along with #91 Byran Champion aggressive play having numerous QB sacks and as well as tackling the Colonels running backs in the back field. For the Colonels it was the play of #10 Will Cann and #61 Kyle Osmand that kept Colonels in the game.
