Souris topples Cornwall at home : 27-6

CORNWALL - The Souris Wildcats kept their unbeaten streak alive as they downed the Cornwall Timberwolves 27-6 Friday night in P.E.I. Tackle Football League action.

Wildcats head coach Eric Conway says Cornwall fought back for a good game, so the score was deceiving. Souris put in a solid first half and that made the difference, he says.

"Defensively we were strong. Offensively we kept the ball moving in the first half. The second half we got bogged down a little bit."

He says penalties are the main thing that stopped Souris from putting Cornwall away early.

"Our penalties are just killing us. We kept them in the game,"
The first quarter saw Jonathan Gallant score a pair of touchdown's - one off an interception - to make it 14-0 Souris.

In the second quarter Gallant scored an additional touchdown - making it 21-0 at half time.

The third quarter was scoreless.

The fourth quarters has Souris's Drew MacInnis score a touchdown - off an interception - that was followed up by Cornwall's Phil Lanthier landing in the endzone. Both touchdowns had failed extra point attempts to end the game 27-6.
