Timber Wolves Devour the Cats 27-0:

The Timber-Wolves knew their back was to the wall, they had to win the game in order to have any chance at the league championship which includes hosting the Potato Bowl. They just took one big step towards their goal by running over Souris on their own home field.

 

 

Now the Timber-Wolves have their own fate in hand, a win next week against the hungry Island Construction Colonels will give them the league championship; as well having the Potato Bowl played at the beautiful new field in Cornwall.

 

Right from the opening play the Timber-Wolves dominated both defensively and with the strong play of Mike Hoy, Quarter-Back, leading the offense up and down the field all day. Tom Lund ran in for two touch-downs while Matty Harris continues with his brilliant play and ran for another. A great surprise was the dependable hands of Seth Currie who caught 5 passes, one for a touch down.

 

Defensively the Timber-Wolves completely shut down the Wild Cats. The once weak defense has shown they are no longer. With such stand out play from Derek Smith and Ben Thompson in turn gave the emotion for the defense to play at a level they have not seen all year. First interception of the year for the Timber-Wolves was by David Cooke, playing safety returned the interception 20 yards to the Souris 20 yard line. As well, Jess Trainer also had one interception.

 

At the end of the 1st half it was 14-0 for the Timber-Wolves. Just as the 1st quarter began the Timber-Wolves came out and dominated the 3rd quarter scoring another 12 unanswered points.

 

Next game is Oct 28, 2006 at 2:00PM at the new Cornwall field where the Cornwall Timber-Wolves host the Island Construction Colonels.
