Wolves dominate Colonels

The Timber Wolves dominate the Island Construction Colonels Claim 1st place over all with a 42-6 victory.

It appeared that this would be a hard fought game with the winner claiming 1st place overall. The 1st quarter with the Wolves scoring on the first play of the game, Ernie Carranza hitting for a 60 yard TD run, convert good to take early lead 7-0. The rest of the 1st quarter the ball was controlled by the Colonels, moving it up and down the field and just when Colonels looked as they would score the Wolves defense lead by Thomas Lund stood their ground. Colonels had 1st and goal from the Wolves 1 yard line and held. Colonels missed the field goal. 1st quarter ends 7-0 for Wolves.

Wolves Aaron Ellis fumbles the ball just at the end of the 1st quarter which game the Colonels some life. This time they were able to put it away with Jeff Hillier on a 6 yard sweep to put the Colonels back in the game, convert missed. Score 7-6 for Wolves. That would be as close as the Colonels would come. The Wolves defense from this point one completely shut down the Colonels defense. The 1st half ended 28-6 for the Wolves. End of 3rd quarter 35-6 Wolves, game ended 42-6 Wolves.

This was a game of the Wolves Defense giving up nothing. On the offensive side the running game for the Wolves continue to rumble on with TD’s coming from numerous players as well with Jeff Trowsdale continuing with his impressive kicking ability, he was good on all 6 converts as well made two saving tackles.
