Clippers Second Straight Win!!

 

The surprising Cooke Insurance Clippers continue with their winning ways, posting their second straight win.

 

The game started a little shaky for the Clippers as the Wildcats newest player, Tyler Gallant, on the first play of the game ran for a 70 yard td.

The Wildcats defense held the Clippers offense on the ensuing kickoff. On forth down poor snap and Wild Cats took over on the Clippers 18 yard line. Wild Cats QB through TD pass to Blake O’Hanley for Wildcats second TD of the 1st quarter.

 

Convert was blocked.

 

End of 1st quarter 12-0 for Souris Wildcats, The Clippers defense would not error again

 

The offense started to roll with a Justin Murphy pass to Brook Lamers who took it in for Clippers 1st TD of the game.


Convert missed as poor snap.

 

Shortly later with the great defense of the Clippers, the offense was back with Justin Murphy hooking up with Alex Lutes for a 15 yard TD and passing for two point conversion to Spencer Leard. Clippers now lead 14-12. With less than 3 min left in the 1st half the Clippers were on the march again, starting back at their own 35 yard line they moved the ball into scoring position. With only 10 seconds left in the 1st half, Justin Murphy threw a 45 bomb to Derek Profit for the Clippers third TD of the quarter.

Score at the end of the 1st half: Clippers 21 WildCats 12.

 

The second half the Clippers defense took over with great open field tackling by Evan Gallant & Kyle Bailie. It seemed like Kyle Bailie was everywhere. Twice during the game the Clippers defense pushed the Wildcats back on their own goal line and took over position on 4th down.

 

There was no scoring in the 3rd quarter.

 

With Clippers looking to add to their score Justin Murphy was intercepted by Dawson Burke. Shortly after that the Patrick LeFrank intercepted a Ben McIssac pass on the Clippers 30 yard line but a questionable call by the referee put the ball back in the Wild Cats hands. The Clippers stopped the WildCats on their own 1 yard line on 4th down.

 

Now late in the fourth quarter starting deep in the Clippers end, the offense was moving the ball. Brock Lamers made two great runs, one for 22 yards to get a 1st down and the second run 70 yard TD to seal the victory.
