Friday Night, Cornwall Timber Wolves defeat the Charlottetown Colonels 29-12.
1st Quarter
The Colonels open up the scoring with their all star running back Jeff Hillier running it in from 30 yards. Colonels went for the two point conversion but was turned back by the Wolves. The Colonels defense played a great game, and kept the Wolves running game in check.
With the Colonels defense making a great goal line stance, Arron Ellis of the Wolves finally punched it in from the 1 yard line for one of his two rushing TD in the second quarter.. With a poor snap, the Wolves kicker, Jeff Trowsdale run it in from the 10 yard line for the 2 point conversion as well made the convert on the second TD
The Wolves Defense started to come alive with Michael Wolfe making two interceptions back to back with one of them being returned for a touch down, Javier Rodriguez snagging another along with David Cooke’s great open field tackles.

3rd Quarter
The Wolves had the ball for much of the 3rd quarter marching up and down the field but the hard hitting young colonels defense were able to hold the Wolves off the score board.
4th Quarter
Jeremy Avery on a great run was able to put the game away with his 1st TD of the year. As usual Jeff Trowsdale’s kick was good. Wolves lead 29-6.
With the Colonel’s All Star running back on the bench with a bad ankle, it made it difficult for the Colonels to mount and type of offense or come back. Adam McDonald, the speedster for the Colonels did finally run it for the final score of the night, convert was missed.
The young Colonels had heart and never gave up; they could be the surprise team by the end of the year. Neither team had an effective passing game; these two teams fought it out on the ground.
