The surprising Souris WildCats too the wind out the Cooke Insurance Clippers by defeating the Clippers at home, 23-15 in a hard hitting game.
The Clippers opened up the scoring with the Clippers punter unloading a large punt in which WildCats conceded the single point. Only scoring in the first quarter.
In the second quarter, #56 of the Clippers, Cody Croken, intercepted a WildCats pass and set the Clippers up in great field position in which they would take advantage of.The Clippers QB, Justin Murphy, ran the ball in from the 8 yardline for the Clippers fist major score. Convert was good.
Souris WildCats answered the challenge and marched down the field with the hard running of Logan Sauive who then ran in from the 11 yard line for the WildCats first major. Convert was good by Drew McInnis.
Clippers lead at half time 8-7

3rd Quarter:
After the Clippers punter mishandled the snap, the WildCats took over on Clippers 20 yard line. Shortly later it was Logan Sauvie once again showing his running ability and scored the WildCats second major but the convert was blocked. Score after 3rd quarter, 13-8 for the WildCats.
4th Quarter:
The WildCats defense lead by all star Nathan Conway continued to put pressure on the Clippers QB, Justin Murphy who was always on the run. The WildCats QB showed he also has a air attach making numerous passes with one resulting in a TD pass to #3 which putt he WildCats up 20-8. With time running out the Clippers finally put together a great drive and scored with 3:45 left in the game. #44 of the Clippers, Alex Forest, ran in from the 9 yard line to bring the Clippers back in the game, convert was made by Justin Murphy. Score was 20-15 with minutes left in the game.
Back came the WildCats, with the WildCats on the Clippers 8 yard line with 1:40 left in the game, the WIldCats fumbled the ball and Clippers had life. On the very next play Clippers QB, Justin Murphy was picked by #7 of the WildCats, Jonathan Gallant with 1:22 left in the game. Clippers stopped the WildCats and with good use of the Clippers time outs they forces the WildCats to kick a field goal from the 20 yard line.
Field goal was good. Score with 1:10 left in the game was 23-15 for WildCats.
Clippers were trying to rally for one last march for a major score but turned the ball over on downs. The Souris Wildcats brought a very well balanced game, moving the ball both by the pass and run. They played a very smart game with the majority of the penalties been taken by the Clippers which in this very tight game made a huge difference.
